You know the Leafs don't seem to have much in the way of goaltenders in the minors. I'm not sold on Woll as of yet. Erik Kallgren I haven't seen enough of. I wonder if the Coyotes and leafs can make a deal regarding Karel Vejmelka. I like the way he plays. His numbers aren't great but look at the team in front of him. Only 25 I think he's better than Mrazek, great size and can probably be had for very little. I think he's better than anything else we have in the pipeline. Consensus?

I mean, he certainly did well against us in a one game sample.

Everybody out there is a lateral, Fleury maybe excepted.  If it's a swap  for Mrazek then sure.  Maybe would prefer Varlamov or even Reimer in that case.  But I can't see any goalie acquisition as really moving the needle.

The Blues seem to have two good goalies at this point.  Maybe the Leafs could get one of them.

I think we need to do something. I know there are better goalies out there but I don't want to see Dubas get rid of any decent prospects and not give away a first round pick again. I think he's given enough away. Vejmelka wouldn't cost much and may be our starter down the road.

By save percentage, the leafs have had the worst goaltending in the league for many months.  It kinda feels like any move is going to be up. It just can't get worse or even really stay the same.  It's not like we are the Flyers post Hextall.

We don't want Biddington and they're not trading Ville. I think they should go after Varlamov and Mayfield from NYI if they want a goalie. If it's a D man, Connor Murphy or Chychrun. Kerfoot can be moved out to cover the cost of either.

A Mayfield/Varlamov package deal would be good.  The only problem there is that I don't think the Leafs have an overpriced 4th liner to include in the deal.

Also, as a side note.  The Islanders still have Rick DiPietro on their buyout list, and he will be there till at least 2026-2027.  It's not costing them anything against the cap, but still that's quite the length of contract.
