Perhaps the most controversial headline to date for the league even before the start of the season, was the running shoe brand Nike and it's naming of Colin Kaepernick as the face of the brand.  While as  controversial as it may have seemed judging by the reactions of Nike shoe burning by Trump supporters, and not controversial at all to those who understood both the cleverness of the marketing and the willingness to showcase a maverick figure in Kaepernick and shake the reins of people's concious in choosing him in the first place.

Not to be outdone, and expectedly,  brought forth the ire of Trump, who once called players like Kaepernick "s**s of b***ches", in reference to them taking a knee rather than standing during the playing of the US National Anthem last season in protest of racial injustice in America.

Call it what you will, call it what you may, but the Nike slogan with Kaepernick's face succinctly reads:  "Believe in something."  Even if it means sacrificng everything."  (in reference of Kaepeenick having become unemployed on account of his actions).

Who'd a thunk it?  The Buffalo Bills -led Josh Allen thumped the Minnesota Vikings 27-6, making this a nightmare outcome for bettors.  Who would have expected a one-sided result from an underdog (Buffalo) over a contender (Minnesota).  Not even close.

Buffalo fans can definitely do their happy dance.

Not since 1995 has an underdog beat a huge point spread.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the KC Chiefs continued their trailblazing ways, as Mahomes surpassed Peyton Manning's early season (first three games) TD total of 12 (2013) by1 (13 for Mahomes), in a 36-27 win over the SF 49ers.

Well, it just had to be broken at some point, and it finally was!  The Detroit Lions after 70 games -- make that four years -- had themselves a 100 yards rushing game, topping it off with a  26-10 victory over the New England Patriots.

The record, by the way, is held by the Chicago Cardinals of 1937 to 1945 -- 79 games.

But they're so much fun to watch. So many offensive weapons and one of the all time great QBs pulling the strings making it look incredibly easy.

Three consecutive 40+ point games, 9 straight wins, and now hints of being a Superbowl favourite with the bookies

Context: I've been an Eagles fan since I was like 10. Yesterday's game was not good

Haha apologies! At least you got to enjoy winning a superbowl a few months back, though!

Yes, I shouldn't complain.  Along with the Leafs winning the Stanley Cup, seeing the Eagles win the SuperBowl was something I thought I'd never see in my lifetime.

My mum's aunt married an American GI at the end of the 2nd world war and moved home with him to New Orleans. As my mum was growing up during the troubles in Belfast my granny encouraged her to spend her teenage and early 20s summers living with my aunt in NOLA, took me to visit when I was 10 and we went to the Superdome for a game but I only really had a passing interest.

About 6 years ago I decided to visit NOLA and took in a game (2011 so a couple of years post superbowl win) which really got me hooked and following the team properly and sport in general. Probably the best sporting atmosphere I've ever experienced in that Dome.

It's not been a particularly easy team to follow since then but last season felt like something was happening and this year feels potentialpy fantastic.

This Monday nighter might be the best/craziest football game I've ever seen.

Highest scoring MNF game ever, currently 3rd most combined points in NFL history (and counting)!
That pick might seal it for the Rams, fun game to watch!
