That was the worst bounce game I think I have saw in years. Every bounce went Bostons way, it was just tough luck.  There is no team in Hockey that could have beat Boston last night, every time they touched the puck it went in. where we could not buy a goal. (See example breakaway by kappy. he beats the goalie only to hit the post). All I can say is the puck luck has to change.

This hasn't been due to puck luck. The Leafs have been getting dominated. Let's not kid ourselves.

They weren't outplayed by 7-3 though, overall the game was a lot more even than game 1. Sure, Boston was better but they benefited from a lot of good bounces. We've had our share of those during the regular season, games where almost every puck thrown at the net either deflects off a defender or one of our own players and winds up in the net.

We'll really see what kind of team we have in game 3. Win both home games and we have a series. Do they have it in them...need to cut down on the stupid penalties (too many men...) and do something about the failing PK.

Insightful.  Well, in the sense that it's given us the insight that you're a jackass.

I agree it shouldn't have been 7-3 bad. When your goalies give you .750 save % you can't possibly win that night.  A couple of goals were lucky bounces for sure (off Zaitsev's skate is prime example)

That being said, another two PP goals last night, if taking a penalty is almost a guarantee goal against, they can't win.  If Leafs can figure out how to kill penalties again they might do better.

Thread

Getting slaughtered on special teams and really giving up a lot of plays behind the ‘defence’. Credit to Boston for stifling us and playing the puck behind us quite routinely.

A couple of early posts bouncing the other way (Gardiner, Kapanen) probably changes the complexion of these two games (that we would still probably lose, but not quite so badly looking).

The lack of Kadri will continue to hurt, but shutting down Komarov and forcing Babcock to rely on faster players can only be a good thing.

The Leafs are coming home and I suspect they'll win one if not both games for sure.  The home crowd, the familiarity of their arena, the different mindset will help them no doubt, providing they turn on the firepower, solve Rask, play with a more physical presence, and tighten up the defence (or hope that Freddie or McElhinney stand on their heads).

Not giving up hope yet.  The best may be yet to come.  Why?  Can't keep the Leafs' best bottled up for long.  At some point, they'll breakout as we've seen them do all year.

GO LEAFS GO!

Well here's where the $6 mil man will show us his chops.

Plek had better be dropped
Leo sorry to say is out (sorry from point of his being injured) but he should be out
Zaitsev is a wreck and Carrick should be in
Moore should be in
Leivo should be in as well.
And by no means am I saying that the subs are head-slapping obviously better but those named are awful at this moment.

We all knew our D was subpar. Just how subpar is frankly shocking.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I might welcome Matt Martin back in the lineup for game 3.  :-\

I really fail to see how he'd be any sort of answer.

Hockey is a pretty simple game.

1. Score goals.
2. Stop the other team from scoring goals.

You do those two things, you win.  Even though part of me would like to see Matt Martin smash some heads and feast on the goo inside, I fail to see how he helps with either #1 or #2.

Actually the most helpful thing that could happen would be if you introduce the barber to your stylist.  ;)
