Im quite surprised that youd cross over to the New Testament.

It's true, I've never been one for that Yeshua fellow but I'm a strict devotee of Homer's work:

Boom. Roasted.

I mean you know me I'm all for trashing the Oilers, but would anyone actually make either of these trades if you're Edmonton:

McDavid ($12.5mil) for Gaudreau and Monahan ($13.125mil)

Draisaitl ($8.5mil) for Backlund and Ferland ($7.1mil)

Many, if not most, of the hockey "experts", including many around here, had predicted the Oilers comfortably in the playoffs this season, if not a Cup contender.  It really hasn't gone as planned, but with a few changes, I think they're a definite threat next season.

This pile on the Oilers stuff is more to do with people still sour about them winning all the draft lotteries because of constant underachievement.

Err I thought the Oilers were screwing themselves over with the moves Chiarellis been making.

As opposed to the fact that they haven't been able to build a consistently competitive team despite having 4 #1 picks and a slew of other top 10 picks? Or the fact that for their tire fire of a team they needed hundreds of millions in public funding to display it?

Nik, did the Oilers blow a 2 goal third period lead at home by giving up three unanswered including the winner with 1:04 to go?

Yes they did, other Nik. Yes they did.

There was some talk the other day about how everyone bought into the media pre-season predictions for the Oilers (including myself) and how they likely aren't actually this bad, but this was their line-up for last nights game:

Maroon-McDavid-Caggiula
Lucic-Draistaitl-Cammalleri
Khaira-Strome-Slepyshev
Puljujarvi-Letestu-Kassian

They're missing RNH, but still that's dreadful. I honestly don't understand what all the hype was about. That has to be one of the worst collection of wingers in the entire league.
