Looks like the Jays have moved Russ Martin to the Dodgers.

Was a big fan of him in his time here, but it makes sense to move him as Jansen should be the full time catcher in 2019.

The return is a couple of fringe prospects.

It wasn't the biggest deal in the world but the Jays signed Freddy Galvis the other day to a one year deal with a team option. He's a pretty solid defensive SS who might be able to hit a bit away in good hitter's parks.

They also signed noted d-bag Bud Norris to a minor league deal.

Daniel Hudson a Blue Jay.  The nine year veteran, from the L.A. Dodgers, signed a one yr. contract and provides the Jays with some right-handed relief pitching depth.

Devon Travis placed on 60-day DL.  Travis, the oft-injured Blue Jay as some call him, required knee surgery and extensive time due to inflammation of affected knee.

with Gurriel and Bichette, Davis pretty much done as a Jay.  Bench bat at best once he is healthy and ready to play.

The Jays sent cash.   I think itís more that we are paying another player to not play for the Jays

Probably clearing at-bats for Vlad.

I think it's a good move just strange timing - I'm sure they couldn't find takers.

Also, clearing up the DH spot to be able to rotate in guys like Hernandez, Smoak, etc., I imagine. The team will be paying ~$50M this season for guys to play elsewhere, but, that's part of the stripping down process.
