Not at all surprising, but still a horrifying example of the gaps in the "justice" system as it related to police officers whose actions need to be investigated properly.

The unfortunate reality is that the AG was likely accurate that there was not a way to make those charges against the other officers stick.  It doesn't make it right but it's likely true because the system is not about proper justice and enforcement of sound practices.  Where there is going to be a shitstorm out of this has been the AG claiming things that clearly didn't happen.

The way I understand it though is that getting charges out of a grand jury is pretty straightforward. I'm not sure if you mean by "stick" that there wasn't enough evidence for a conviction but I don't think that's the standard Grand Juries tend to go by.

The AG in question spoke in support of Trump at the GOP convention this year and is considered a protogee of Mitch McConnell, in case anyone was wondering.

Yeah, I'm thinking more about getting conviction more than getting the Grand Jury to agree to charges.  I also don't agree with that approach particularly when it comes from a scenario where there are no charges whatsoever.

Filing another one under, I knew lots of stuff the American public needed to know to avoid disastrous politicking but I didn?t want to spoil my book deal.

Also where are all pitchforks for the enablers in the Senate?

The whole press release is quite the read.

Yes, I saw this. Thank goodness. I was worried the pandemic might be getting out of hand.

Honestly as bad as Trump is, this Stephen Miller jerk is far worse.  He's going to escape any form of punishment but his hands are all over the atrocities occurring at the US-Mexico border.   I would gladly make an exception for witch hunts and burning at the stake for this monster.
