Getzlaf re-signs in Anaheim, say goodbye to that pipe dream.

8 Year Deal.

Not a surprise. All the rumours had him sticking around and Perry possibly hitting the open market.

Yup, in other news, Getzlaf's testicles say the living conditions in his wife's purse are fantastic.

Happy wife, happy life.

Might be on the high end of what he would have received as a UFA.

How long before we hear the news that Getzlaf was prepared to walk but the new Anaheim Ducks scout Brian Burke talked him into staying?

In the Suter/Parise marketplace, even with a reduced cap, someone would probably have offered him a max contract if he reached UFA.

If we do, it's likely lies. Long before Burke went back to Anaheim, word was Getzlaf would likely re-sign.

It was only a joke.  ;)

Poop.

It's time to wipe the poop, grab a shower and move on.  Getzlaf to Leafs was a pipe dream anyway.

Sadly, it's one that has more than a grain of truth to it. People will believe Burke had something to do with it.

And Tyler Bozak breathes a sigh of relief.

Only those that blame Burke and say he ruined the team will now believe he's out to further ruin them from afar.  Next up, Burke engineers two firsts and a second draft picks out of Nonis for someone...
