•Don't really read anything into Subban being a "3rd pair" defenceman there. I guess they just like having a #1 guy on the ice at all times. Must be nice

The Power of Dubas compels you:QuoteBONUS ITEM: According to an NHL source, the Florida Panthers have been told that prospect Adam Mascherin won't be signing with them before the draft. If that remains the case, he would re-enter the draft where he would be an interesting prospect coming off a big season in Kitchener. He has 40 goals this season in 67 games. Mascherin was the Panthers second-round pick (No. 38 overall) in 2016, and GM Dale Tallon is now shopping him to try and get a return before the draft.
If you're not familiar with Mascherin, watch Jeremy Bracco highlight videos from his Kitchener Rangers days.

Again, it's crazy that he likely won't be in a healthy playoff line-up.
If Johnsson got a chance to show what he could do earlier in the season I wonder if that would have changed management's decision to not trade Komarov.
I wouldn't be surprised if he does get in, assuming he keeps going like he has. Just as Kapanen has replaced Martin, Babcock isn't so stuck in the mud that he won't make a move when it's win or go home time.

Imagine when Matthews came back we just swapped Plekanec out for him with those lines. Or Put Matthews where Nylander is and Nylander with Leivo and Kapanen.

The most comfortable he's looked (which bears out in the numbers) was when he played with Marincin last season and was allowed to be the rusher/mover, while Marincin handled the gap-ups and board engagements.

Hainsey hates talking to reporters, but I love it when he does.
Except the bigger question is why Hainsey was blindly wiring it up the boards when Rielly was standing directly beside the ref wide open. That's actually a play that requires some discussion, I would have thought.

Also, playing Kapanen instead of Leivo is a pretty big statement as well.
Yup. He's made it clear that he wants speed on that line and Leivo just doesn't bring that. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the team was trying to flip Leivo for a pick right now before the IR clears off.

Some minor edits before Bullfrog gets here:
Moore and Marincin are doubled on the lineup and scratch list. I assume Gauthier and Carrick are in?
The Sharks shouldn't be on a bit of a role.

How much longer does Komarov get a free ride?
He's never been an offensive dynamo, but he has been awful this year.
