Tossing grenades since 2013!Another Rielly special to start the game.
You could tryWhat's his cell number? It's time he heard from me.
He's playing like he doesn't want to be traded ...Stolarz swagger is gone. I don’t know WTF can be done.
Good thing he's got a 4 year extension that hasn't even kicked in yet. He's playing like he doesn't want to be traded ...
That's kind of a crazy comment. League's best save percentage last season.Good thing he's got a 4 year extension that hasn't even kicked in yet.
Another unforced Treliving error.
He's never played more than 34 games in a season and has a very clear injury history and still had a year left on his contract. There's no justification or rush to give him 4 years. That's kind of a crazy comment. League's best save percentage last season.
Everyone has left the Leafs for dead. Pressure is off. I'm sure they will look good in this one. Leafs win big tonight. Place your bets.
And it's even more annoying considering we want to root for losses but we're reliving the Kessel trade nightmare, just instead of the 2nd OA pick, it'll be 6th.As painful as it is... we're cheering for losses now. So good job team.
I'm fully expecting us to finish bottom-5 but get bounced out of that pick with someone winning the lottery. And it's even more annoying considering we want to root for losses but we're reliving the Kessel trade nightmare, just instead of the 2nd OA pick, it'll be 6th.
So who is it? It has to be internal and quite frankly I think the whole GM leadership should be cleaned out except for maybe Hayley Wickenheiser.I don't agree with people who say you can't change GMs mid-season. I can't believe you can't find a guy to placehold as interim GM with the shortest of leashes to make deadline deals. If Pelley is running the show, let's get on with the re-build.
I don't think the team can be re-tooled. Too many flaws.

It wasn't even really a cost saving contract. It was perfectly fine in terms of value but if Stolarz reproduced his 2024-2025 season where he was one of the best on ice goaltenders but still a guy who only plays 30 games...what he makes 4.5 million instead of 3.75? It wouldn't have been that significant enough of a cost savings. He's never played more than 34 games in a season and has a very clear injury history and still had a year left on his contract. Do we think that from ages 33-37 he's going to have less injuries? And somehow play 40-50 games a season?
So there's nothing crazy about what I'm saying.
He's more of a capologist than a guy who can run a team. I'm not sure we want his first kick at the can to be as important a deadline as this one could very well be.Pridham?

I think less Pelley involvement is better than more of it, considering his track record. The team would be well served bringing in someone to takeover some of Shanahan's duties and to act as a buffer between the board/Pelley and the GM.I suppose, but OTOH he's by all accounts a smart cookie and I trust him more than Treliving, who has made some pretty dreadful deadline moves already. Anyway, Pelley could set strict boundaries on minimum returns.
