Wade Belak found dead

That's just terrible.
 
Huh. That Free Press article is the first I've seen to definitively say how Rypien died.

Anyways, sad news. Belak seemed like a decent guy.

Belak was always a favorite of mine - was looking forward to seeing him on battle of the blades this year.

Tragic.
 
Wow that's just fucking terrible.  Guy had a young family too.  Great personality too... RIP Wade..
 
Guy played over in the UK during the lockout and was a pleasure to be around. For an enforcer, he was one of my favourite Leafs through sheer personality and apparent selflessness he showed in a tough role.

Genuinely amazed and gutted.
 
Awful, awful news! What the hell is going on in the NHL that enforcer-type players are dying so young? There should be an official NHL inquiry into this matter because its becoming a serious issue!
 
This is just terrible.  I heard about this while driving and was just in absolute shock.

RIP Wade.  I'll never forget that fight you had with Janssen sticking up for Kabs.

This is shocking and sad news!  He had such a great sense of humour, he seemed like such a nice and funny guy.  He was one heck of a tough enforcer too.  I'll always have fond memories of him.

I don't think we can draw a straight line like that just yet. Boogard fatally mixed painkillers with alcohol and Rypien killed himself after a long struggle with mental illness. Without knowing the cause of Belak's death it's probably a little soon to link them to each other or even hockey in general.
