Not a huge deal but a nice gesture.
 
the most frustrating part of this is, according to Kyle Hay, the guy who knocked him out was not pursued by the cops even though many witnesses saw and described him, and they were instead going to arrest one of Kyle's friends who was trying to defend him.  Apparently witnesses who saw Kyle & friends both in their seats and in the stairwell where the hit took place said they were doing nothing to provoke the attack. The guy came out of nowhere and just slugged him.

- got that from an interview Kyle did this morning on 102.1.
 
Did they eventually arrest this clown or what? You would think it wouldn't be overly difficult to find this guy.

I live in Boston area. Have my whole life..I Love the city...(just not the team).am proud of the city. Bit I for one was not offended one bit by the dudes sign.. I didn't take it as a mockery of the bombings.. I take it as a guy proud of his city and maybe chose not the best way to express it.. The media keeps brining it up though
 
So if someone comes to the game on Friday with a sign that says "BOSTON STRONGEST", is that distasteful too?
 
I think people may be taking the sign a tad too seriously. Personally, I think one of the rare legitimate civic purposes of sports is that through our rooting interests and rivalries we can take something like what happened in Boston and not heal but at least sort of ease a path towards normalcy. I remember watching the 2001 World Series and saw as people, only a few weeks after 9/11, sort of went from "We love New York" to "But we hate the GD Yankees" and, really, I think it was a comforting sign that things were back to normal after a terrible, though isolated, incident.
