Red Kelly was a great hockey player for our Leafs. His leadership helped our Leafs to win 4 Stanley Cups in the 1960s.  A great hockey player, and always, a better gentleman!

I would like to extend my sincere condolences to his family, friends, former teammates, and, to all others who knew and loved him.

Red was a pretty good defenseman for Detroit that transformed into a very good shut down centre for our Leafs.

Another great hockey player from my childhood has departed all too soon.  I'm crying as I try to finish typing this message.  :'(

Red was a great Red Wing and Leaf winning 4 cups with each team. A gentlemen by all accounts. RIP Red.

I met him as a kid at St. Michaels arena. He was wearing a knitted TML jacket/sweater. He called me by my name and said "great game kid" We lost the game. I think I was 15 at the time. I played for the MTHL St. Mikes. I don't remember the game at all, but I remember him and his few words. RIP Red!

Well deserving of his place on Legends Row.  I wonder if any of the players from the 1960s Cups will live to see the Leafs win another.

Rest In Peace, Mr. Gentleman.  A wonderful soul.

My late brother used to recount to me stories of the ?60?s Leafs Cup wins and one of his favourite commentary phrase was ?Kelly to Mahovlich, Mahovlich to Kelly?.  Those were the days!
