It's October 5th and this should be when the regular season starts but for some reason we've got 2 more of these fake games to get through first.

Maybe it's just because we haven't seen a 19-year old who wasn't Matthews or Marner win a roster spot out of training camp since like... Matt Stajan I think, but I'm still very doubtful that this leads to Minten playing next week. He's obviously made quite the impression on the coaching staff regardless though.
 
It's preseason...I know...but how does Domi-Tavares-Nylander make any sense?

I'd think switch Jarnkrok and Nylander?

Minten, Cowan, and Knies have all impressed. Weird to think that there might be some forward reinforcements coming through the pipeline. It's been awhile.

This team has shown me nothing good so far this preseason.  I'm pretty much ready to start the rebuild if they don't win this crucial game.

Generates the turnover and Marner finds him swinging back through the zone. I want to credit McCabe there as well for dragging his guy through the goalie?s eyes (and distracting the other defender) to leave Nylander a lot of room in his wake.
