That's impossible.. There are only 31 1st rounders this year. Arizona forfeited theirsherman said:https://twitter.com/wyshynski/status/1379957317433712640
It's basically unquantifiable leaning toward little better than 2nd or 3rd rounders. The retention is important. I'd give up a 1st in this rando draft for Hall and retention easily.bustaheims said:Also, it?s a late 1st in weak and unpredictable draft, with a significant portions of the top prospects having barely played in the last year (with many having not played at all). Their value this year is harder to measure than in others.

Honestly, what am I missing?

Probably just putting too much emphasis on his season with the Sabres, where the entire team is a literal dumpster fire. A lot of his underlying stats blow virtually every other Buffalo player out of the water and make it very clear that the team is holding him back.
And while he obviously isn't playing at the same level as when he won the Hart last season was probably better for him than the numbers show. He scored at a 65-point pace playing with two teams that both struggled to score. With New Jersey he scored at a 68 point pace and the teams highest scorer Kyle Palmieri (who of course was just traded for a 1st rounder) scored at a 56 point pace. In Arizona he scored at a 63 point pace and the teams highest scorer was at a 52 point pace.
