EDM
?Jeff Skinner (18-9-1, 2.63 GAA, .903 Sv%) will likely start for the Oilers
?Edmonton has climbed back into a playoff spot after replacing head coach Jay Woodcroft with Kris Knoblauch. The team has gone 20-6 since the change and are currently on a 10-game winning streak
?Prior to the firing Edmonton was dead last in the league with a .864 all situations save percentage. Some combination of the coaching change, Jack Campbell being banished to the minors, and Jeff Skinner waking up has their save percentage jumping up all the way to .909 since the firing, which would be good for 8th in the league in that span

TOR
?Martin Jones (8-4-1, 2.30 GAA, .924 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?Toronto did not practice on Monday as the team travelled out West. That means it's unclear whether Keefe will stick with his blended up line-up, revert back to a more standard one, or use some combination of the two

The Oilers have really turned their season around. So have the Leafs lately. They?ve just turned it around in the opposite direction as the Oilers. Should be a good test of 2 teams heading in opposite directions, and about to meet in the middle tonight if the Leafs can?t win this .

This could get ugly.  Luckily it's past my bedtime

Knowing the Leafs they will win this one convincingly.

Jones with a shutout. Matthews with 5 goals. Marner finally breaking Sittler's points in a game record.

Lines aren't as weird as last game, mostly just Holmberg still on the top line with Bert on L3. McMann and Gio back in. Jones starts.

I gotta say I don't mind the lineup but I'm not a fan of Robertson getting scratched again. I thought he played well against Detroit and I'm still holding out hope he'll get a look with Matthews one day...doubtful I know.... I think it's time Gregor had a seat to be honest.

Robertson does have good underlying numbers. Tough to show with such limited minutes.

I think Robertson is getting scratched because they want to see how reliable Domi can be. They like his offense, but they do not trust his defense. With Robertson, they definitely don't trust the defense at all, which hamstrings the rest of the lineup if they eat all the sheltered opportunities (i.e. Tavares is exposed). If Domi is legit at pushing the puck into the OZ with these veteran wingers, then we have an opportunity to cook a bit and give Tavares some mojo building time.

Holmberg is a first line winger now?

He's a plug-and-play, no muss, no fuss, forechecker. Has the brains to keep up with higher-end players even if his own skillset can't generate. Swedish Connor Brown, basically, without the junior stats riding shotgun to McDavid.

Maybe more like Jonas Hoglund.

Coach gave him a chance to reward him for playing well. He had a good game. I think he was Man of the Match here. I seriously doubt it will last.

But the coach is kind of saying "Any of you want to play with Matthews & Nylander ...? Play as good two ways as Holmberg and you might get a shot." Holmberg wasn't even in the lineup until 6 games ago.

He's challenging them to play better.

It has to be tough for Robertson because you could feel the extra effort he was putting in, giving it his all to try to stay in the lineup. If he was playing with a center who was more reliable defensively, it might be a different story.
