Leafs Front Office 2026-27

Sadly I'm not there anymore, at 66 years old it's now the Cup or nothing, making the playoffs isn't good enough anymore. 😢
I remember back in 92/93, I was 24/25 years old and Leafs were going to the conference finals. I was like "surely they'll win a Cup in my lifetime! I won't die before I see a Cup they're on a great path now!!!" Sadly, I don't think it'll happen now.

The big thing is I think they have the goaltending to contend. Woll could in my opinion string together 15 strong playoff games.

But that’s IF they can balance out the forwards, especially actually the third and fourth lines, and make the D a little more mobile to take advantage of that at the other end.

So, no problems really.

Whatever. Who cares. Hockey is stupid anyway.
It is.

Which is why, while obviously I’d have loved the leafs to win, I still enjoyed watching the incredible levels of skill under Dubas/Keefe. I’d rather have watched that than watch them play the way they have the last 2 years even it it had taken them further in the playoffs.

Maybe I’m part of the problem.

(If they’d won it all last year I’d probably have accepted one year of unwatchable hockey 😀🤣)

When I see names like Gillis, Kevyn Adams and John Chayka I shudder. This thing could potentially get even worse than it already is
This whole Gillis thing feels manufactured. He must be calling in all kinds of favours to get his name splashed everywhere.

After that circus of a press conference from Pelley, my faith in MLSE is non-existent. Ownership has clearly gone back to prioritizing the bottom line over the product on the ice. They don't seem to realize that a competent front office could deliver both profits and a winning team, but they’ve clearly stopped caring about the latter.

I agree. If Woll stays healthy through a playoff run and the Leafs adopt a system where they aren't consistently outshot and outchanced 2-to-1, they could surprise someone. But that requires a new coach, lineup tweaks, and Matthews finding his dominant offensive form again. That’s a lot of ifs.

I think we need to take all names being thrown out with a grain of salt right now. The GM/President/Coach role of the Leafs is always going to get clicks and the more absurd the name, the more attention it will grab.

A guy like Kevyn Adams...too many years of dreadful play not clicking to say that his approach is being redeemed by the team finally being good. Falling into repeatedly high draft picks and finally having top players be successful....you screwed up if your top 10 picks aren't successful.

At the same time, the Leafs absolutely should interview him. They should do their due diligence. I don't want this to be a thing with Armstrong is the guy because that's who we want. St. Louis got a fluke Cup and has been dogs hit since then. St. Louis is in a playoff race right now...while being being the Leafs in the standings.

Going with Gillis as GM is such a disastrous option.

Instilling him as POHO however I can get convinced to get behind.
