I just hate shootouts, always have, and still would even if we won 50 of them in a row. I would rather drop players until we went to 2on 2 for five mins, then if the score was still a tie then there it would stay.
It's pretty remarkable that the NHL somehow managed to recognize the fact that they did have something of an issue(ties were no fun), came up with a solution that, strictly speaking, addressed the issue and yet somehow satisfied nobody.
I've heard people say that they enjoy the shoot-out because they find it exciting as a process but I've never heard anyone say that they like the shootout because it resolves games.
