SEA
?Joey Daccord (13-7-8, 2.34 GAA, .922 Sv%) will likely start for the Kraken
?Seattle had a trio of forwards who missed practice on Saturday (Eberle, Schwartz, Yamamoto). No official word on their status but Hakstol seemed to indicate their might be some illnesses or minor injuries so their line-up could be a bit up in the air
?One forward who will definitely be out is Yanni Gourde, who is serving a 2 game suspension for a charging incident against Edmonton on Thursday

TOR
?Ilya Samsonov (5-3-6, 3.88 GAA, .863 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?Coming off a loss and going into the 2nd half of a back to back with travel can and probably should lead to some line-up changes for the Leafs. It would not be surprising to see Roberton and one of Timmins or Lagesson get back into the line-up

A rested Seattle team that hasn't played since Thursday and are on a 3 game losing skid vs a Leafs team playing 3 in 4, and shaky Sammy in net, what could go wrong??

Wrong is a matter of perspective.

I know we say this every samsonov start but if there was ever a game for him to stand on his head and take back control of the net this is it.

I don?t see it happening, but one can hope.

The door is opening?

I completely get that we?re all going into tonight?s game thinking the worse . We?re due for a surprise of the positive kind to lift the mood. Hopefully that?s what they deliver tonight.

I don't go into any games thinking the worse. I go on thinking they're going to win. Hoping Sammy has a great game.

My year has been pretty negative. I'm getting to the opposite though.  I'm expecting losses so when they win it's a pleasant surprise.

Just wondering how the last month would have been if Woll didn't get injured.  Here's hoping he is the real deal and comes back after the All Star break.

Hope is not a plan, as they say.  Which is a stupid saying.  I hope so too but would feel much more hopeful if he had about 60 more games under his belt and could stay healthy.

As for Samsonov, this his chance to take back the net, because Jones ? and thank God for him BTW ? is finished with it.

I dont think that the defensive deficiencies of this team would be cured with Woll between the pipes.

No but the team is more confident with him in there. They need a guy to play with Rielly to start with. A legit 3C is on the list as well

They seem more confident in Woll, plus Woll would have most likely made more saves...so the Leafs would have won some of those games. The underlying defensive problems would still be there though.

Samsonov really took off when Murray faltered last year.. like it was up to him to carry the team.. with Woll out and Jones having some issues maybe Sammy will get the Eye of the Tiger...

He would definitely of helped but goaltending isn't our only issue. My take we wouldn't be out of a playoff spot with him playing #1 minutes but in the playoffs it's a crapshoot as to how far we went. Wouldn't surprise me if we would be out 1st round. That isn't necessarily because I don't think the team can win a round it's just that the 1st round opponent regardless of who it is isn't going to be easy.

Seattle is apparently wiped out with illness/injury. They still have Jared McCann who is at least good for a goal or two, so we are boned

They were on a roll. Better than their record. Injuries have caught up to them.
They've been pretty good defensively. Not so good offensively.

I wonder if this might be a game where Keefe parks the team D and just lets them run & gun so they get off to a good start with the strength of their talent.

Hope Sammy has a good game.

This is the Leafs best chance for 2 pts before the All Star break.

If they can't beat this depleted lineup I don't know what to say.
