Kadri has always reminded me of Tony Tanti, you really don't see him but out of the blue he ends up with a goal or some offensive stat yet when he got it you can hardly remember him even being on the ice. For me it looked that Kadri couldn't pass the puck, every pass seemed to hit the opposition's stick or skate, it was a horrible year for him and us.
Kadri promised he was going to dedicate himself to being a more complete player which was mentioned over and over again on every televised Leaf game and it even appeared to be somewhat true earlier in the year but I think enthusiasm for his supposed reinvented self soon waned, whether or not he was a better player defensively I guess could be debated but we do know his offensive stats dipped considerably. Kadri I'm pretty sure figures his path to riches and glory is paved by his offensive accomplishments or more precisely his stats. Someone needs to show him that his possession ability is what should ensure him the glory he so desperately desires, I'd love to see him on the TV screen more because that's usually where the puck is, during most of his shifts I'm rarely aware of what he's doing so if he's ever to be a legitimate 1st or 2nd line center option he needs to be far more of an impact player.
We've heard in the past Kadri has had conditioning issues and also skating issues, the skating issues surprised me, so I assume the problems are still issues that need to be addressed before he can possibly become the player so many want him to be, I'm expecting Kadri and Babcock are going to have a very interesting season and we'll be hearing all about it.
