NYI
?Ilya Sorokin (14-12-9, 3.17 GAA, .909 Sv%) will likely start for the Islanders
?The Islanders made a big change to their team before the all-star break, firing Lane Lambert and hiring Patrick Roy to be a NHL head coach for the first time since 2016. New York won their first game with Roy behind the bench, but have gone 0-2-1 since then

TOR
?Ilya Samsonov (8-3-6, 3.36 GAA, .878 Sv%) will start for the Leafs
?The Leafs returned to practice after their all-star break minus David Kampf, who per Keefe was a little banged up before the break. He's currently considered day to day until further test results
?On the flip side it looks like the break was long enough to get McMann back on the ice and ready to play, as he suited up on the 4th line alongside Holmberg and Reaves at practice

It's good that Samsonov righted his Samsoship before the ASB.  If he had not, we'd be looking at Head Coach Guy Boucher making his bench debut tonite.

The Islanders are really bizarrely constructed. Engvall on the 2nd line screams of mismanagement to me.

Oh the season is still on?

I think they should just declare Team Matthews the winners of the Super Bowl so we can all get back to watching The Bowling Channel.

Quick trivia question, and don't look, but who leads the Isles in scoring thus far this season?

It was Dobson last time they played each other - I'm guessing it's still him.

It?s a big part of why they?ve only won 20 of their 49 games. They?re a tough team to play, because they have so many guys that can grind you down, but they?re not particularly threatening.

Pretty good pace all of a sudden.

Samsonov's positioning has been good, if not his rebound control.

Well, that shows his rebound control costing them.

Two posts, now one goal.  1-0 NYI

I'd like to congratulate the Islanders for taking 2 penalties in 7 periods + 2 OTs against the Leafs so far this year.

I know he's new behind the bench, but it's obvious that Roy's legendary self-control is translating to the team.
