Hi TML Fans.

I hope I'm welcomed to share my ideas. I'm an older guy who has been a Leafs' fan since the early 70s. I consider myself to be a realist and have seen several players, coaches, GMs, and even owners come and go.

I am looking for a place where the realistic fans aren't shouted down by hordes of cheerleading homers. A place where there is a healthy balance between negativity, realism, and unbridled optimism. A place where all are welcomed to share their ideas.

Thanks and happy posting.

Sounds good to me.

I give the leafs roughly a 50-50 shot at beating Boston.  If Freddie plays like November Freddie, they win.  If he plays like March Freddie, they lose.  I have no way of knowing which Freddie we'll get though.  Goaltending is impossible to predict.  (Years of losing has me fearing the worse but I'm not sure that's so rational.)

How's that?  Too optimistic?  Too pessimistic?  Or just right?

Like that great quote from Forrest Gump "Life is like a box of Freddies. You never know which one yer gonna get". ;D

Welcome to the board.

For what it's worth, I've never thought that the reception of posters here had to do with whether they were optimistic or pessimistic or whatever but rather was about the way they put their ideas forward. If a point of view is well supported then I don't think anyone will come down on it simply because it leans in the wrong direction. Along those lines, having a good sense of humour about things goes a long way.
