I've been having a lot of fun with the new Sim City. I do worry, though, that in order to make the online/multi-player aspect of it work they've sacrificed a bit of the sandbox-ness that made the earlier games so much fun.

Picked up RTTS 2013 last night and started a RTTS career as a prospect 1st base for the Jays, it is a lot of fun for a casual baseball fan like myself, what was supposed to be 30 minutes before bed turned into a three hour game session.

I haven't experienced it yet since I just started yesterday, but there is lots of reports of player being told to wait half an hour to log-in since they just played recently, which is unacceptable to for a game that people paid as much as $90 for.

As a result, it is on its way to becoming the lowest rated product ever on Amazon.com. 2008 1 star review out of 2199 reviews.

I've heard about the issues but haven't experienced them myself much. That said, the game is a little buggy.

Wouldn't that be mire an issue with origin than the actual function of the game?

I'd think the Sim City/Maxis folks were responsible for their own servers/anticipating demand. Both are owned by EA though, so the difference is largely academic.

Hopefully they get the bugs fixed soon, I want to give it a try.

I think maybe that I would separate my rating of the game itself with the handling of the servers. The game itself could be great, but EA should rightly draw the ire of people who purchased the game. But I wouldn't necessarily say that the game deserves 1 star due to a launch issue.

The fact that it needs to be connected to a server is the issue most have with it. There is no offline single player mode.
