Toronto News: After a dominating 7-1 win at home against the Washington Capitals, the Leafs couldn't match that performance the next night in a 3-2 road loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Leafs fell behind early and never recovered, clearly showing weary legs in back-to-back games.

"I thought we were doing fine in the first period," coach Ron Wilson said. "I don't think they had very many scoring chances. But in the second period we didn't have much energy and we didn't work smart."

Tampa Bay News: Down 3-0 at home against the New Jersey Devils on Saturday, the Lightning made a strong push in the third period to cut the lead to 3-2.

But a late goal by Ryan Carter short-circuited the comeback in what turned out to be a 4-2 loss to the Devils. Coach Guy Boucher was upset with his team's performance.

"We had some players show up tonight: (Ryan) Shannon, (Martin) St. Louis, (Steve) Downie and (Brett) Connolly," Boucher said. "This game takes a full team effort and tonight we just didn't have enough."

Really hope they go back with Gus to see if he can do anything after his start in Washington.

Let's go Leafs!  I'm actually excited to see Gustavsson back in tonight, I think he played his best game in a long time on Saturday night.  Despite the blowout he made some very good saves.

by the end of that game he had a lot of swagger.

.... Like those guys in the Subaru commercial.

Don't have a good feeling about this game.  Tampa Bay's lost 3 of 4, so I can see them making amends at home tonight.

5-2 Tampa Bay, Stamkos with a hat trick and an assist.

As I usually say when I predict a Leafs loss -- hope I'm wrong!

I think we'll squeek this one out.  3-2.  One of those, 'hang on at the end by the skin of our teeth' games (much like Carolina did to us on Sunday).

The Leafs have been demolishing teams with defensive issues this year and TB is certainly one of those teams.

I think this one is a 5-3 win and plays like pond hockey all night long.

I can't believe Reimer still leads the team in wins.

Neither can I but only because he doesn't. Gus has five.

As bad as he has been, Brodeur, Bobrovsky, Neuvrith, Mason and a few other guys have worse SV% now too.

mirtle: Looks like Jonas Gustavsson starts tonight. And MacArthur should be back in the lineup.

This is good news from my perspective. I like MacArthur's game. I'm also hoping the Goose can build off his last win.
