Robertson scratch is either trade related or tank related. Can’t have someone try that hard on this team and make everyone else look bad.

Fun to see the McMann-Matthews-Nylander line though.
If it's trade related they need to say that. Scratching him because "his game has fallen off" is f'n ridiculous and he should be canned just for that. It's idiotic to bench one of a very few that always brings it.

Look forward to L1 but L2 looks like a disaster.

Not like this would or would have made a lick of a difference, but I'm curious as to why the effective McCabe-Stecher pairing was ditched a while back and (to my recollection, at least) never re-established? McCabe playing his offside, and Myers in seems like..a much worse decision...anyway..yea..not watching this one. There is some still-moist paint on an exterior wall I plan on studying tonight..

The forward lines look really horrible like that though...
3 best finishers are on the top line.
Maybe they're trying to pad McMann's points to help get more in a trade ...
Taking into consideration his lower minutes, McMann is scoring goals at a top 6 pace
He's not the greatest distributor of the puck for the other two snipers. He's still learning that.

I wonder.
Robertson has been pseudo trade fodder for a long time. Pro scouts would have seen nearly everything they need to see at this point.
Some of the others may be not as well known or haven't been scrutinized as much because they were not shopping them.
Robertson's effort has to be obvious to anyone half following the team. Pro scouts will know all about that.
After years of the league passing him over, maybe they have to promote less examined players.

Here's hoping Stolarz can get his game back on track. I don't see the Leafs making a goalie trade before Friday but one has to happen in the offseason either way

I don't dislike Lorentz but guys like him who provide beyond zero actual offensive contribution continues to be a massive problem with the roster.

It’s not really Lorentz specifically that’s the problem. It the lack of puck moving defense at the bottom of the pairings. It’s pretty hard to generate chances for a line that gets DZ deployment without transportation assistance.

Amazon commenting on our great strategy. Dump and then defend

Watching a line with Matthews and Nylander playing dump in hockey is an atrocity.
