Coaching and management changes around the league

I'm sure Adams is a nice enough guy, probably, but this had to be up their as one of the worst GM hirings of all time. The Sabres were a mess in 2020 and the Pegula's decided to hand the reigns of the franchise over to someone with absolutely zero hockey management experience whatsoever. I can't even stress how grossly underqualified he was for this job. I know "former hockey player turned GM" happens all the time but usually they at least go through some training as an assistant GM or whatnot for a couple years before taking on a big job. Adam's post-retirement life saw him fail as a Sabres assistant coach after 2 seasons, at which point the Pegula's hired him to run a youth hockey program in Buffalo for a few years. Then he spent like a year on the business side of the Sabres organization before getting the GM job (at a time where it was very well known that the Pegula's were trying to cut costs). I feel bad for Sabres fans a little but the organization itself really doesn't deserve any better right now.

Even their social media post announcing the moves lacks any tact or creativity.
 
Our ops are slicker, but it's not like our GM is doing a lot better, considering what he was gifted to start with.

Agree to a degree, but he was basically forbidden from trading Marner year 1 and Auston now has the body of Joffrey Lupul.
 
For whatever reason, I have vivid memories of hating Kevyn Adams playing for the Leafs. I thought he was smaller then his hockey db shows? I remember him as a little whinny weasel.
 
I had to double check too. I thought it was some yahoo making crap up. I'm sure when Marner does his act in the playoffs
it'll go over well.

At least they'll be in the playoffs with a great shot of making it to rd 2 considering how weak the Pacific is. If Vegas can get a save, they'll be a tough out.

Probably hoping for that new coach bump. Vegas' biggest problem is goaltending. Hill has been horrible. 3.1GAA, 866SV%, -13.79 GSAX. He's played in 25 games. Had a SV% over .900 just 7 times. By comparison...Woll has been over .900 in 24 of 36 games and the Leafs give up the most shots/game..Given up 153 more then anyone.
Vegas has the 6th best PK, the 4th best PP, give up the 3rd fewest shots and their SV% is 2nd worse. 4th best in HDCA at 5v5. 10th best in SCA, 9th in SCF, 7th in HDCF. Their HDSV% is the worst in the league. Team is actually a lot better then their record.
