BOS
?Jeremy Swayman (4-0-0, 1.26 GAA, .957 Sv%) will likely start for the Bruins
?No Bergeron, no problem for the Boston Bruins this season. They're on an incredible start to the season thanks largely to their goaltending. Swayman's been great but Ullmark isn't too far behind with a 4-0-1 record and 1.77 GAA / .939 Sv%. Unclear who for sure starts this game
?Boston will be missing some key people in their line-up with their 1D Charlie McAvoy currently suspended and two other regular defencemen in Forbort and Grzelcyk likely out with injuries
?The biggest surprise in Boston so far this season beyond their record has been the play of 19-year old centre Matthew Poitras who came out of nowhere to earn a top-6 C spot. He has 5 points in 9 games so far this season and this will of course be his 10th game triggering the start of his ELC

TOR
?Ilya Samsonov (2-1-1, 3.99 GAA, .841 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?Also unclear which Leafs goalie starts in this game. I could have seen Woll going back to back if the Leafs showed up against LA and he won but after a loss I think there's a chance Samsonov gets the start

Also, Poitras was drafted slightly after Minten (2022 #38) at #54.

He has that 'stay-above-the-puck'edness that Patrice Bergeron was notable for.

I still have no idea how the B's are as good as they are with no name 1C and Charlie Coyle 2C

What the hell is a team pre-scouting meeting?

They probably needed a lot of working figuring out who the hell Mason Lohrei is.

Basically this.

Also, it's just the coaching staff having a finger on the pulse of the team. They looked and played tired after that road trip. It's not like they have physical/technical things to work on (aside from Reaves); most of their disconnect is mental. Having team meetings to zero-in on a division rival's new tendencies (who is climbing the ladder even with a busted lineup) will be good to get the Leafs focused and rested.

I hope the meetings emphasize this team should focus on imposing their will and pace on the game (like Nylander, who has discovered that he is actually better than most skaters), rather than reacting as they have this start to the season.

Goes to show you talent isn't everything. Same as last year. Coaching, sound defensive play I think are two big reasons. Leafs haven't been a structured team with Keefe behind the bench and still aren't. Jim Montgomery has done a great job.

They're running a .611 P%, which isn't great but translates to a 100 point season, which theoretically anyway gets them into the playoffs.

It's not Calgary bad.

75K is really moot but I still don't understand how Samsonov was awarded 3.55M by the arbitrator while Swayman got 3.475M

Samsonov has a career .906 SV% while Swayman has a .922 SV%

Possibly be the workload. Swayman didn?t even play 40 games. Plus playing on a better team, better defensive team. Not sure what all the arbitrator looks at. I?d take Swayman over Samsonov any day of the week.

I would like Woll to get this game.
