It seemed pretty clear based on how McDavid/Muldaver dangled uncertainty over the previous offseason and only went 2 yrs. The Leafs were very solidly holding onto Berube and Treliving, and McDavid had a couple of lunches with Matthews, who clearly had some thoughts about that situation.

It's also really funny they surround him with so many former Leafs in Edmonton.
