Tverberg just does things the right way. Puck seems to follow him. Good positioning good stick will do that. Simple is a ball of energy. Johnstone...savvy vet that gets the job done.Given that the free agent class is either going to be horribly expensive or is just mediocre we are probably going to see a handful of these guys get a fair shot at making the team.
It seems easy to say that Villeuneuve at least fits the mold for puck movement. Rifai always seems like a guy who was on the verge of a callup and then would get hurt. Danford seems like he'll be an NHLer and honestly has probably been the most impressive standout given how easily he transitioned to the AHL after his OHL season ended.
Akytyamov taking the job from Hildeby was a nice surprise. I do wonder a bit if this is also a bit of Hildeby kind of already established his time in the AHL was over with his callup stretch and the organization wanting to find out what they really have in Artur.
Akytyamov has a 2.12 GAA and .927 SV% on this run. Hildeby had a 2.10 GAA and .921 SV% in the 2+ games he played. Hildeby's SV% was only .898 durign the regular season (Artur had a .904) but the team was pretty mediocre and bouncing back and forth with the NHL and AHL probably didn't help.
Cowan was already a regular but Tverberg has probalby been the most dangerous looking forward I've watched. I like what Sim is doing, Johnstone has been entertaining although I don't really see a future NHLer when I watch him. Bo Groulx and Haymes have been ok but I've been kind of disappointed that both haven't really taken that extra step to really establish, especially Groulx.
This is definitely a team that is playing better than the individual parts on paper.

Any online feed ?
onhockey.tv is the one I use. It sucks, but it works. Maybe those popups I have to swipe away are risky too.I did not answer this very well
During the game, when you posted, you could sign up for a month of AHL hockey on FLO hockey for about $50
If the Marlies lost the series over the 1.5 games remaining, that would not be a great deal.
Some time ago, it used to be different.
I looked today to try to provide you with a link and I'm not seeing anything yet - probably due to their timing needed to schedule and do media for the Final, etc
I had looked around for alternatives and couldn't find any safe ones.
I'll update when I find out.
