2025-26 Marlies Thread

Great game so far. Ahktyamov, minus the 2nd goal stinker has been outstanding. Sim surprised me a little with his speed and playmaking ability. I can see him on the 4th line with the Leafs creating havoc one day.

Some horrible officiating at the moment.
Pretty brutal for sure. 2 clear hit from behinds and only 2 mins? No 5 and review was weird and the call on Shaw for interference? Didn't know taking a dbl fist to the back of the head was interference. Oh well, clear defensive breakdowns cost them huge. On to game 4.

Marlies tie it up 3-3 late....and then blow it even later.

The officiating continues to be bad in this series

It's been terrible to be honest and that's not looking at it through Blue glasses.
Unfortunate end but overall another entertaining game. Defensive breakdowns are killing them. Must win on Friday.

I need the Leafs new 4th line to be Sim and Tverberg as the angry chihuahua wingers for some stoic 4C (Groulx?)
Both should get a good look with the Leafs on the 4th line. Speed, energy, good defensively. Villeneuve has to be impressing Leafs brass. Very good puck management game again for him. Danford is getting better with each game. I'll say it again, kid looks legit. Great feet, great puck mover/passer. Akhtyamov another stellar performance.

I went to this one. I thought early on the refs were gonna let the game out of hand. They definitely did. It was hard to zero in on anyone with how many times we were doing the ref you suck chant 😂 but I thought Danford looked steady, AA good as almost always, the vets with a lot of jam.

Villeneuve is second in AHL playoff scoring ... might not clear waivers in September
With the age of the Leafs D, I've got him penciled in as an 8th on the NHL roster

I've liked Tverberg for a while and hoped he might be able to help. He's arbitration eligible and not waivers exempt. So they're going to have to make some decision on him. Maybe they overpay a little to try to buy some depth by discouraging others from taking him.

I knew very little of Sim I guess due to his knee injury in October.

To have some waivers exempt guys like Danford, Quillan, Akhtyamov, etc, I think that is helpful. To have a few avoids some of the tough time Robertson went through as the only waivers exempt one - up and down, up and down ...
