2025-26 Marlies Thread

Is there a place to watch these playoff games?

Either down at the Coca Cola Coliseum for the home games or onhockey.tv, or if you are a subscriber FloHockey.tv

Vinni Lettieri* scored a natural hat trick to cap off a shutout performance by Artur Akhtyamov to propel the Marlies to a 1-0 series lead (best of 3 in rd 1). Pezzetta and Groulx were the other goal scorers.

* he could have easily played more effective minutes than Calle Jarnkrok, but would have been subject to waivers

I was at the game Wed. The Marlies played a pretty flawless game. Lettieri has a rocket of a shot. Tverberg, Quillan, Groulx, have elevated their games since I saw them last, before playing with the Leafs. Cowan made some nice plays and had a couple of good hits. Akhtyamov made a couple of big saves. I was kind of surprised he started but he had the better numbers this year with the Marlies.
Interesting notes. Tverberg was playing 2C between Nylander and Cowan. Groulx was at 1C between Shaw and Lettieri. What's interesting is that Shaw was moved to the wing. The last few games I saw, Shaw was 1C with Tverberg on the wing.
Fun game to be at.
Game 2 tonight in Roc.

5-1 going into 2INT

Gotta get Tverberg and even Alex a look with the big club, with its dearth of right shots
Tverberg absolutely. He does all the little things right. Smart player and can skate. Nylander? Absolutely not. He had zero pts in the 1st 5 playoff games. He is exactly like 88 only worse...he will not take a hit, give a hit to battle for a puck or box out a man. He's literally in the 3rd line at this point. That's not great for a one way player.
Thrun looked really good today playing mostly his offside. Villeneuve is playing great. The D in general was very good. Ahktyamov solid.
Big win. Hopefully they can clinch on Tuesday.
