2019 FIFA Women?s World Cup

The 2019 FIFA Women?s World Cup comes to France.  It will run from June 7 to July 7.

The previous WWC was hosted by Canada in 2015 and set an attendance record.

Who are the favourites?  Team USA is naturally deemed the favourite as they are ranked at top spot in the world rankings column.
Team Canada, led by all-time player Christine Sinclair, is ranked fifth.

Speaking of Canada?s Sinclair, she is well within reach of an all-time international soccer record ? her 181 goals are four shy of Amy Wambaugh (American).
Canada?s soccer superwoman is determined to lead her country to the Women?s World Cup trophy.  Sinclair led Canada to an Olympic Bronze medals (2016 Rio Summer Olympic Games).

Still can?t forget that very controversial call against Team Canada at the 2022 London Summer Olympic Games in Semi-Final versus Team USA.  That still hurts but at least Canada?s ladies got their dues worth in 2016.

GO CANADA GO!

That Italy game was exciting.  I watched the entire second half and was pretty much jumping up and down when they scored with about 30 seconds left in injury time to win.

Abby Wambach: "Would you tell a men's team to not score or celebrate?"

Poor form playing this card, yes I would react the same when a men's team does these antics.

Ignorant statement.

I have no problem with the score, the celebrations became a little much at a certain point. It?s not some international incident though the way some are painting it, same as the KD injury fiasco, it?s a teachable moment, move on.

Yeah, that's my feeling more or less. It's understandable to get caught up in the emotion of the World Cup and I don't think any malice was intended so while it's maybe not the best of behaviour it's not anything worth getting angry about.

I've seen a few commentators pull the gender card which is stupid. I've seen Germany beat Brazil 7-1 in the world Cup and the Germans weren't doing the Macarena on the sidelines after goals 5-7. Had they done so it would have been the same reaction the Americans are getting
