The  new season began this past weekend as the NFL celebrates it?s 100th year.

Defending Super Bowl Champions New England Patriots opened Sunday at home vs Ben Rothlisberger & the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Pats QB Tom Brady started where he left off as his Patriots crushed Pittsburgh 33-3.

Will Brady & his Patriots win yet another record-breaking  Super Bowl?  Or, will this be the season that KC Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes leads his team to SB glory?

Many believe the Cleveland Browns are poised for a breakout year, and that QB Aaron Rodgers  and his Green Bay Packers are due for a better playoff run.  How about Drew Bree?s and the Saints?  Last year?s SB finalists the L.A. Rams?

Anything can happen, such as QB Nick Foles whose early season came tumbling down as he suffered a broken clavicle in his debut on Saturday, while his Jacksonville Jaguars suffered  a 40-26  loss to Mahomes? Chiefs.  Talk about bad luck.  Ugh-ly!

Interesting to see if this is isolated or is the first in a series of dominos that eventually applies to the Indians, Braves and Blackhawks.
 
I find the Cleveland Indians an interesting example because they were named in honour of a former player, Louis Sockalexis, regarded as the first native american to play professional baseball.

I think, with the benefit of hindsight, there are probably better ways to honor a guy than to name a team after his race. Broadly speaking, I'm not really sure the intentions of the people doing the naming matter compared to the larger question of whether it's appropriate to name a team after an ethnic group if it's not that particular ethnic group naming a team after themselves(to distinguish the Indians from, say, Notre Dame's teams).

Read somewhere yesterday the Blackhawks have been receiving some heat.
 
The Chiefs defense got away with a lot of holding all year.  The NFL is handing them their lunch here to help out Brady.  Catchable pass apparently isn?t a thing anymore from the officials

No, KC did not play well. Or did they not adjust well to some adversity? The tantrums on the bench are usually a sign that things aren't quite right.

As a Bills fan, it certainly would have been nice if the holding penalties against the Chiefs were called 2 weeks ago. They played the exact same way against Buffalo and got away with it all game long. Against the NFL's darling Brady, they were shut down right away and they didn't adjust.

The two pass interference calls on the Chiefs during the drive at the end of the first half were terrible. The first one was a complete soccer dive. The second in the end zone saw the ball closer to being a field goal than a catchable ball. That drive destroyed the Chiefs and subsequently, the enjoyment of the game.

The penalty on the TB punt and the KC interception called back really hurt too. KC was trash but so were the refs.
 
KC were without there 2 starting Offensive Tackles, and that hurt them big time.  If they had those players,not saying KC would have won, but it would have been a much closer game, most likely.
