Yeah, I agree. To me, it's another example of Dubas building teams that succeed in the regular season but struggle in the playoffs. Pittsburgh was never going to win the Cup, but they shouldn't be on the verge of being swept by the Flyers.

I think, if Cassidy was the guy ownership wanted, he would have been hired already. I think we're looking more at someone like Malhotra - someone with experience behind the bench, but never as the head guy in the NHL.

The problem is expecting the new GM and/or POHO to make one of their first moves firing him (because anyone competent is firing him). Take that burden away from prospective hires. Don't make their first major move be a negative one.
