Even yesterday's game doesn't give you a really great feeling, at least from an offensive point of view. They had one "good" inning. And calling it good may be a stretch. The 3 players on base were there because of an error, a walk, and a hit batter. Varsho hit the grand slam on a pitch he...

Apparently we'll get that scoring from Laughton. So we're set.

Note: that strike zone last night was once again horrendous. All over the map. It's like they have somewhere to be and want out of there as soon as possible. It forces the batters to adjust, and chase while they guess what's a strike.

Hopefully some of the steam they all seemed to blow off last night helps refocus them. The poor me attitudes are killing them. Whines of "if they want New York to win" is garbage. At least NY is hitting the ball. Suck it up, make contact, put the ball in play. Get back to having fun playing ball.

Yes, that was horsesh*t. I also don't know why Schneider comes out after the foul ball to dispute something that's not reviewable. What are you hoping for other than an immediate horrible call against like the third strike?

Do we really think that Kypreos is being fed his info? *your second point is definitely the case. Kypreos still hasn't recovered from being KO'd 30 years ago.

Really hoping for an angry Scherzer rebound tonight. But that's all for not if the team doesn't start producing offense. All the wonderful "feel good stories" have subsided. Man if this doesn't highlight the need to sign Bichette, I'm not sure what does.

What a swing of events. From a team who's bottom 6 is viewed as being weak, to a team that can't find a spot for a player like (a hopefully rebounded) Scott Laughton.

While I agree with all of this, I don't know that you're getting the value out of Laughton that you're hoping for with him on the 4th line. Other than the 900k savings, i'm not 100% sure what the benefit is.

I was going to ask about Laughton. I mean, if we are simply freeing up a line up spot/salary space, is he not the more tradeable, more valuable asset? He's in the final year of his deal. For a rebuilding team he could easily be moved at the deadline for draft picks. For a contender he could also...

Sure, Kypreos has some good stories....but his "hot takes" are mostly worthless.

Respect is a strong word. I'm sure a bunch of people know who he is. I don't know that it goes much further than that.

Do we figure that pushes Scherzer out of the playoff line up(like RA Dickie)? Or in the least, out of the starters role?

That's how I read it. It's not a money decision. He can get that anywhere. It's more about being on a team that is poised to win. Oilers are right there, but year after year, they don't improve in the area needed to get over the hump. The best is going to be when Bowman trades him to the LA...

Now that the 5 accused players can return to the NHL as of December 1st, who is the first to sign? I think we can assume it will be Hart? https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/article/nhl-says-players-found-not-guilty-in-london-hockey-trial-suspended-until-dec-1/
