I agree. But I don't think pushing your talent down in the line up adds to your depth. It just spreads your depth even thinner. Not every team is fortunate enough to have a Brad Marchand on the 3rd line playing like he's close to 10 years younger.

You may be right. But, Matthews and Nylander are not Draisaitl and McDavid and will not carry a line in the same fashion. Toronto's lack of depth will kill them more than Edmonton's does.

Maybe not. I was really just throwing another winger on the line. Point is, I'd be very open to trying Nylander and Matthews together for a longer look than has been given in the past.

I'm not saying don't trade him if a reasonable offer came around. I don't know who's really untouchable on this roster (other than Matthews I suppose). You're correct on the pairings he had prior to Carlo showed up didn't really work. But I think it's indicative of the player he was paired...

I know we like to rip on Rielly but is he really that overpaid at 7.5 million? Especially with the rising cap? He's a 40pt + guy. He's serviceable on the power play. He can play just about any situation. He may leave a little to be desired speed wise but I don't think he's near as bad as people...
