after the second was over this is exactly what i wanted from the leafs..a one goal lead standing up for the third period.  i felt like there was more to be learned here by a close win especially with how they had to come from behind twice to be in that position.  they still have a long way to go...

didn't deserve it?  I don't know what the corsi looks like but i felt like the leafs spent most of the night in ottawa's end ..outshot them...and in the end only had 5D for most of the night ...i think goaltending let us down

oh my god ..it's almost hockey time..don't really have much in the way of expectations but I am hoping the leafs finally found a goalie.

it felt like an early round robin game from the olympics when all the commentators spend the game tut-tutting about Canada not beating Germany by enough goals.  Only this is game One of a possible three, which somehow makes it worse.

good thing it wasn't team north america.  their coaches wouldn't have told them it was a best of 3 until after the first game.

i can't believe this ends in a best of three tournament.  whomever came up with that idea definitely didn't envision a canada/team europe final .

i'll agree that the game wasn't exciting but portugal did what they had to.  especially after losing ronaldo early on.  and hey at least it was a team that who had never won it before (at least I'm fairly certain they'd never won it before).  if france wanted to win that game all they had to do...

hard to know if he was recovering in the second half or if there was no longer any pressure.  since it seemed his issues were somewhat in his head.  I guess this year might go some of the way to resolving that.  anyway i have no real issue with him he seemed like a good guy and i hope he does well.
