It's odd that you dismiss 3 cases where it has happened and worked out good for the team getting the D but then cling to the Hall example as the rule?? That hasn't exactly happened a lot either. Just because a bad GM made the Hall trade does not mean there can't be a deal for the Leaf's. Heck...

How about the Seth Jones Trade? Brent Burns? Hamilton? They aren't common but they do happen. It's quite possible someone desperate offers one for any of our forwards not named Tavares, Matthews,  or Marner.

Did either of them have any games with a save percentage above. 900? That might have gotten the Leaf's one more win. As an easy example Smith has been great in half his games abd terrible in half. I suspect he would have given the Leaf's 3 wins out of 7 games if he played the same.

I obviously don't know Taylor Hall but I think his best offer will come from Florida and tgat's a team on the rise in a decent place to live with tax benefits.

I watch them alot. How they have won more than a couple of their last 10 is simply amazing. They are getting destroyed many nights but keep finding a way to win.

But the Conservatives got more votes than any other party? People are mad at the hypocrisy on some issues. A good example is oil for the Prairies vs coal for BC. Building pipelines is akin to letting the devil in but leading the world in shipments of coal somehow goes unnoticed to the same folks...

I live in the most Conservative Province in the Country and I don't recall ever talking to anyone who has any issue with gay people have absolute equality. It's such a minority of folks who think that way.

Many have Babcock in the same camp as well.

Yes, exactly what I  wrote.  How about on the nights he doesn't score a good all round effort rather than mailing it in and watching guys go by you and score?  He does not need to score every night to be good,  he does have to be consistant in effort and execution.

And in games where he fails to do that he has not shown well with some regularity this season, hopefully that is behind him. So he is now somewhere between trade bait for Tom Wilson and Connor McDavid. 

Right up there with fans who think the most skilled guy is automatically great.
