    Puckpedia says UFA, CapWages says RFA. I think its UFA though, since this contract will be his 6th and 7th seasons. His first two count even though he didn't get to 40 games because he was injured and on the roster.

    There was some talk that he may have been willing to waive for Vegas around the deadline, but the teams involved couldn't agree on a deal. I don't fault him for not waiving for Carolina if he wasn't interested in extending there.

    Games played and if the bonuses put them over the cap, the amount carries forward to next year. The Leafs did this with Max Pacioretty last season and have 626,230 in cap space being taken up by it this coming season.

    It wasn't a flat cap world when Nylander signed in 2018, no one had any idea they would be in a flat cap world was coming. The cap had increased from 75 to 79.5 that season.
