Taylor Hall guarantees Buffalo the 2021 1st overall pick: 8M 1 yr

Last I heard he was down to two teams: Nashville and Montreal. This makes it even funnier.

Friedman says it's a short-term deal. I wonder how stort-term. If it's just 1 year for a boatload of cash then I get this from Hall's perspective. He gets to play with Eichel and build up his value. Either Buffalo makes the playoffs or they're out of it and trade him to a contender at the deadline (the second one obviously). If he signed for 2 or 3 years... poor guy.

Happy the Bruins got nothing (but Craig Smith :() but Hall does have his pick of the litter at the deadline.

What happened with Colorado I wonder

I wonder if there's not some sort of internal cap situation going on there. The Kroenke's just built a 5 billion dollar stadium in LA that was supposed to get this year's Super Bowl and now it's opened and crowds are basically outlawed in LA. Might stand to reason other businesses in the empire are being told to tighten belts.

Or, you know, I wonder what they'll do from a strict bodies sense but it also would stand to reason they're not spending now to save room for the upcoming Landeskog/Makar deals they have to make.

They basically chose Saad at $5.4mil (salary) instead of upping their offer.

Assuming Landeskog stayed with MacKinnon, Hall would also have been choosing between playing with Eichel or Kadri.
