SJ
?Mac Blackwood (4-15-2, 3.84 GAA, .891 Sv%) will likely start for the Sharks
?San Jose currently sits dead last in the entire league. They have lost 10 straight games and have been outscored 15-43 over that stretch
?The Sharks could be getting a much needed boost. Logan Couture, who hasn't played a game yet this season after an injury prior to training camp, is close to returning and has not been ruled out to make his season debut on Saturday

TOR
?Martin Jones (6-3-0, 2.20 GAA, .930 Sv%) will start for the Leafs
?The Leafs did not make any line-up changes at practice on Friday, indicating that Nick Robertson will be a healthy scratch for a 2nd straight game in favour of Pontus Holmberg

They've laid an egg in these West Coast situations before.  They have these guys B2B (sort of) and better take home 4 points.

Don't get Robertson sitting. I haven't been overly impressed with his play buy he needs to play unless he's on his way out which I could see. Catch 22 but sitting on the bench isn't helping matters. He's one of those kids like Moore who if traded will prosper from it but we need help on D and he's a prime candidate to be shipped out.

He's made a number of boneheaded plays lately where he coughs up the puck trying to make a fancy move coming out of his own end, so I'm OK with him sitting a couple of games.

The big problem I see with that line is that Domi and Robertson are almost the same player - smallish, quick, not really all that physical (except for when Domi goes off), good playmakers but not good finishers. Robertson has a tremendous shot and, in theory, should be a good finisher, but he hasn't figured out how to use it.

I think there's a good chance he'll be traded away as part of a deal for a defender. If he winds up on a bottom feeder team, he'll probably play a lot more and higher in the lineup and put up a bunch of points. Given enough time in Toronto, he could do the same...maybe. But he's not playing over Knies or Bertuzzi, and come playoff time he won't be in the lineup. I find myself wondering if it'd be better for him to be playing close to 20 min a night with the Marlies as opposed to 8-9 with the Leafs.

The caveat to the above is, there are very few rookie finishers, let alone second rounders who can score with regularity this early.

The hurdle is time. NHL defenses take away time and space much quicker than most rookies are used to.

Recent rookie finisher exceptions (and they?re 1st OA picks): Ovechkin (technically 2nd yr due to lockout), Matthews, Bedard

The shot is usually not the issue, it?s consistently getting into scoring positions and triggering the shot cleanly enough with like 1/4 the time they?re used to.

If the right deal came up I'd trade him.  I don't think he's going to make much of an impact at this level.
