RIP Sergei Berezin

Sad news once again in Leafland. Passed away today at 52 years old while home in Florida.
Loved the way he played for us.

Not many know this, but Sergei made a $1500 donation to TMLfans.ca back during his Leafs playing career.  He was a regular reader of our then blog and forum. I still have a copy of his cheque.

Ad revenue had just taken a deep dive and he got hold of us and helped keep the lights on.

Such sad news. 52 yrs old. He?ll always be one of my favourite Leafs, for stepping up for us when we needed a boost.

RIP Sergei.

Thanks for sharing Rick, great story!
I remember Berezin for his smooth skating ability.
RIP Sergei, we lost you much too soon!

Excellent story. I've always liked him, great memories of when he was a Leaf. My condolences to his family. He seemed like a stand up guy.

Thanks for letting us know! Geez... I hope I didn't write anything bad about him.

I loved watching him play, a water bug on ice who never passed. I am saddened by his passing and will be sending positive vibes to his family and friends.
