BOS
?Jeremy Swayman will likely start for the Bruins, although coming off a game 5 game 6 loss Boston could possibly turn back to Linus Ullmark

TOR
?Joseph Woll will likely start for the Leafs
?Injuries continue to be the biggest story with Toronto's line-up. The team did not practice on Wednesday Friday but Matthews did skate in Toronto by himself. Keefe commented that Matthews made made some "progress" but his status for game 7 was still undetermined

FWIW MLHS agrees with me that Samsonov was indeed the obvious starter in G1:

Woll was the biggest hero for Toronto again and seems to be finally healthy and in form for the first time since returning from the high-ankle sprain. There seems to be some consternation among Leafs fans along the lines of ?Why wasn?t this guy starting earlier?? but the truth is that Woll hadn?t earned it. The team gave him every opportunity to win the job (including both games against Boston in early March) after returning from injury, but Samsonov did outplay Woll down the stretch.

No matter now, Woll's in there and has grabbed the reins.  Hope he turns in the same kind of performance in G7.  If he does, the Leafs could leave naysayers like me with a bunch of egg on our faces.

Steve Valiquette disagees.....I'll go with him.

I think he was the obvious starter too, mostly because a) he outplayed Woll down the stretch and b) experience does come into play a little and it was Samsonov who led us through the 1st round last year.

With that said I think it was crazy to not start Woll in game 4. At that you're almost committing the series to a goalie and waiting until you're down 3-1 to put Woll in just put him in such an impossible come back situation. Or so I thought.

No matter what happens tomorrow, one thing I've really enjoyed from this team is the jam and moxie they have that we haven't seen in a long time.  Not being pushed around, the grittiness, some of the blocked shots.  It's a different team makeup right now, and at least we know they won't be a bunch of pushovers as we've seen in recent teams.

And all that being said, they mop up the Bruins tomorrow with a 4-0 win.  Woll being stellar and stealing the series for the Leafs.

Had a cheese fueled dream last night that the Leafs shelled Bruins goalie Byron Dafoe and ran out 5-2 winners. Bruins had something like 5 shots. Can't remember if that was for game 6 or 7 though.

Like the past two games, I just want to see an honest effort. No assuming defeat before the puck gets dropped like we've seen so often in big games.

If they give it their all and lose, so be it. Just don't quit until the final buzzer sounds.

it's kind of sad when even neutral people have this as a story, kind of like everyone knows he probably shouldn't be reffing with Keefe behind the bench but the NHL doesn't seem to realize it

If we keep playing like we have the Bruins can't touch us, but that's an "if" as we all know this team can lay an egg....lol GO LEAFS!!!

I agree with that.

True but this time we may have the difference maker in Woll, if we get get off to a slow start like we have in the past and Woll is on his game he can keep us in it and maybe steal one. Something we haven't had the last few years and it's a great feeling.

Maybe, but it?s also genuinely how I feel. Win or lose, I just want a solid effort.
