Preseason game #2. Ottawa announced the squad that they were sending to Toronto and it includes NHLers like Chabot, Chychrun, Tarasenko, Batherson, Joseph, and Kubalik:

The Leafs have not announced their roster for the game yet, but it will presumably include a number of the NHLers who did not participate in the Sunday afternoon game including possibly the new top line of Bertuzzi-Matthews-Marner.

Got our top line, probable 4th line, and probable Marlies top line in action tonight.
 
Similar to Minten yesterday, Cowan is just getting early reps before the inevitable loan back to their respective junior squads, hence the 4th line role.

Gregor seems to have the inside track to converting his PTO into a contract once the salary cap implications are sorted out.

Speaking of salary cap implications... did Calle Jarnkrok get left off both preseason rosters? I didn't see any news about an injury.
No Tavares either, but that's less unusual.

Ottawa comically misses two open nets on the same PP foray and nearly gives up a shortie to a very nice Matthews-Marner play.

This is fair...but I'm a little concerned about how good this stupid sens team could be.
 
Cowan looks AHL capable already. The Brayden Point comp doesn?t feel that far off ? certainly applicable in style and mindset.
 
Cowan getting a key shift with the net empty with the other big guns and draws a penalty to help the cause.
 
Beautiful setup and execution runs into a great save.
