Matthews split half his time with Marner and Nylander last year. If Nylander's defensive improvements lead to more trust in most of the match ups, it can last until it goes stale.

The Penguins, with the last change advantage, put their top D pair and Crosby's line against Bertuzzi-Tavares-Nylander, which gives a pretty good indication about how far Matthews-Marner have fallen in this recent stretch. The Tavares line was the only line to win their minutes at 5v5 (62% CF%; 1 GF, 0 GA) with the second highest DZ draws (behind the extremely buried Kampf line).

Marner, for some reason, has been doing that thing that plagued Domi earlier this season: get the puck, slow to a halt, give away the puck.

Leafs probably don't want Boston on their helmets regardless of the connection.
 
TikTok, PizzaPizza, somewhere Conn Smythe has a pained expression on his face.

Actually, I just looked him up and find that he ran a sand & gravel business aside from his Leafs stuff so maybe they can get a similar outfit to sponsor their helmets.

I still hate that Reaves is getting playing time over McMann/Steeves/Abruzzese but this is the game he needs to do something.  He talked a big game about the Gudas scream in Woll's face when he signed.  He then did nothing against the Panthers when we played them.  Bennett didn't play the last game.  If Reaves doesn't fight someone (without an instigator) he shouldnt' dress another game this year.

Florida has had a much better start to this year than I was expecting.  Going to be a tough task, and I hope the shuffling of the lineup will provide a shot in the arm to get our big guns going again.

Would love to see Woll have a solid game and solidify himself as the capable 1A starter.

Yeah that's fair.  It doesn't have to be a fight but it needs to have that kind of impact. Take guys off with offsetting minors.  Throw a few big hits
 
Ben-wa blasts one in a blatant attempt to decapitate Stolarz.

They are playing for keeps out there.
