Luke with a Goal and assist today. Also 11 hits.
he had plenty of hits with the leafs. But he also had pley of bonehead plays.
I've only seen parts of a couple of their games. I think during the Leafs-Rangers game, they commented he'd been their best dman the night before.
Schenns make presence felt
The Schenn brothers, Luke and Brayden, made their presence felt in the Flyers? 7-1 wipeout of the awful Florida Panthers on Saturday night.
The most eye-opening stat: They combined for 16 of the Flyers? 38 hits.
?It?s just part of our game; we both like to be physical,? said Brayden Schenn, a 21-year-old forward.
Luke Schenn, a 23-year-old defenseman, had 11 hits, a goal and an assist. Brayden Schenn had an assist on Matt Read?s third goal, delivered five hits and won five of seven face-offs.
It was the second straight strong game for Luke Schenn.
?He?s a real dependable guy for us,? coach Peter Laviolette said after the Flyers improved to 2-3. ?He?s playing a lot of minutes, and I think he could play more if we needed him to.
?He?s gotten better every game.?
Luke is #3 in dmen ice time per game for the Flyers. #2 at even strength. And he was basically there before the Flyers suffered injuries.
After only 6 games, the stats can't be very conclusive but:
+2 ties for 1st on team
2 pts tied for 5th on team, 1st among dmen
Leads the team in hits with 19
5th on team in blocked shots
Of the 18 goals scored against the Flyers, he's been on for four of them (22% of goals against while playing 33% of the time = not bad)
so the stats doesn't reveal a big problem - in fact, so far, they're kind of good considering how the rest of the team has been going.
I didn't see any bad plays by Luke when I watched them. It looks like he's off to a respectable start.
