TB
?Andrei Vasilevskiy (28-17-2, 2.86 GAA, .900 Sv%) will likely start for the Lightning
?Tampa has clawed their way back into a playoff position after spending much of the season on the outside. They've gone 11-3-2 in their past 16 games and are 6 points behind the Leafs currently

TOR
?Joseph Woll (11-9-1, 2.87 GAA, .910 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?Morgan Rielly is expected to return to the Leafs line-up after missing the past 4 games with an upper body injury
?With Rielly probably coming in one of Giordano or Timmins are the likely candidates to come out of the line-up

I am in favour of Keefe stress testing his youngsters; just wish he did it before being forced into it by the old guys' wheels falling off. The bottom half of the Tampa roster is exploitable if we are patient and weather their forecheck with all five players supporting the puck.

I was gonna say they really don't look like a deep team anymore. Two line, 1 D-Pair team really...

Nick Paul and Eric Cernak are still pretty legit and Anthony Duclair is a nice pick up that pushes their depth down, but I like how we've looked against them this season. Noting that we are still missing Marner, Jarnkrok, and Edmundson, I think we still line up pretty good against this team. Zero-ing out Kucherov and Point will go a long way but it might be a tad tricky without Marner/Jarnkrok; one way would be to try to keep the puck in their end for as much of their shift as possible. This will require Matthews to sacrifice on offensive risk taking.

We might have a Bos x TB and Tor/Fla x Fla/Tor coming up.

Anyway, home ice can be achieved as Florida is 4 points up, but Leafs have 2 games in hand and play them again.

Go Leafs Go!!!

Annoyingly, Tampa is the team I'd most prefer to face in Rd 1 lol
Fortunately, the strategy against all three of them is the same.

Remember that time David Kampf went for the Michigan... he's been practicing

A regulation win by the Leafs tonight would put them 8 pts up on Tampa with 7 games to play - that would all but guarantee a 2nd vs 3rd team matchup involving the Leafs.

A few weeks ago, when Florida was on top, I would have been quite content with that.
A number in the media thought they were the toughest opponent.

Since then, Florida has faded some and Tampa has been playing .800+ hockey.
They all look like tough opponents to me.

With a win tonight, maybe they can make a contest for home ice in the 1st round.

I think we shouldn't worry about which opponent we play.  They are all tougher in the playoffs and we need to step up our game regardless.

Woll gives up another on the first shot.  Not good at all.

Probably a bit in his own head honestly since Keefe mentioned it one game and he was waiting for a shot for half the period

I think you're right.  Regardless, if that happens in the playoffs it's a killer.

Yes we'd love a save but how about block some guys out from screening him.
