Gillis’ tenure as the general manager of the Vancouver Canucks is remembered as a golden age for the franchise. Multiple Presidents’ Trophy victories, playoff berths in five of six seasons and a trip to the Stanley Cup Final in 2011.
However, Gillis hasn’t worked in the NHL since he was fired by the Canucks in 2014.

Gillis can be brusque in interview settings. My understanding is that he’s typically told NHL owners and executives in hiring situations why he thinks they’ve fallen short and which resources are required to fix their team. That sort of frankness is a major reason why Gillis was an effective manager in Vancouver, but it’s not always the best interview strategy.

Max Domi might be here forever
Just an example of how Pronger would work. I agree with it. Same goes for anyone.Chirs Pronger was a ruthless killer during his playing days. I wouldn't mind someone who isn't afraid to do some dirty work.
Whoever it is, I hope it's a Vegas approach to running this team.
The Sundin thing mostly feels like a "we need to do something quick to make fans happy" move... and it'll probably work.
Other than Gillis and maybe Ross Mahoney (who hasn't been discussed much and I don't know a ton about him but his experience seems intriguing) I really wouldn't want any of those names listed being hired for the very top job. Guys like Chayka, Hardy, maybe Pronger I could have time for but only as GMs with a Gillis or Mahoney as POHO.
