Leafs Front Office 2026-27

Media: oh people complain about the big bad media in Toronto. What a bunch of whiners.

Meanwhile they post garbage like this.

Most of the media is just interested in staying abreast of the news. Frank Seravelli is the one guy who seems pretty bent out of shape about the search firm also being tangentially related to the agency that reps candidates for the role.

Speaking of Kypreos I listened to the Doug MacLean segment and it was very much old man yelling at cloud. He was just going on in 'analytics' and at one point Bourne said 'what are you arguing?' or something to that effect. I found it funny.

I want to believe, but it’s also Kypreos…

Not sure how relevant that would be. Apparently the Devils owners are big fans but he had to serve under Lou and then Ray Shero for a few years... not exactly modern day GMs. He had to watch the Devils pick Michael McLeod, Nathan Bastian, Joey Anderson, Brandon Gignac, Mikhail Maltsev, Evan Cormier, and Yegor Rykov all get picked before Shero finally gave in and picked Jesper Bratt in the 6th round despite Mehta's model ranking him as the one of the best players in the draft.

I'm hoping for 3 things to happen
1. The leafs lose all games and draft Verhoff
2. The Leafs hire Ron Francis as President
3. The Leafs hire Chris Pronger as GM

Seravalli would get offended at getting served Tanqueray instead of Bombay Sapphire.

Regardless how we feel, as fans on this website, Tie Domi seems to be friends with everyone, everyone seems to love him. Maybe he should be considered for part of the Leafs management team? Not sure what capacity or role but one thing has struck me recently, as a GM, you can identify all the best talent available but if you can't get them to sign it's fruitless. I'm not saying Treliving struggled at this but it's worth considering that personalities matter in all this.

I can't give a strong enough side eye to this idea.

A name that popped up in that post-mortem by the Athletic was Humza Teherany, the Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer with MLSE that has the ear and attention of Keith Pelley. This is not to say he will have direct input into personnel decisions, but it appears, based on these instances he spoke in public, he has been directing the development of software (apps, agents, etc) within MLSE to meet whatever process requirement or idea comes about.

Before he joined MLSE
