It's questionable he'd go to 20M per so let's say he only takes 6.5M of the new cap to go to 19M. Oil will have just over 23M to replace Ekholm, Henrique, Walman, Skinner, Pickard, Kulak, Kappy, Tomasek, Stecher. They can also trade Hyman who will be 34 and his NMC turns into an 8 team list.

I think your math is right. Edmonton filling out their roster will leave about $19m to re-sign McDavid, they have a lot of holes to fill though.

Maple Leafs have $19m in cap space with only 1 whole to fill.
