Kadri did not kneed this

Hurt his knee against the sens. Getting MRI today.
(Ek and Bob McKenzie have reported this)

Oh my thats too bad, well i guess it opens a door for someone else.

I think Frattin's play combined with Kadri's play already had the door open for Frattin.

Bozak, Lombardi & Connolly injuries may have the door ajar for Kadri but he'll have to curtail those lone Kami-Kadri rushes with the puck and play a little smarter if he wants to stick around.

Yeah, Frattin's kept his game simpler and more effective on the whole than Kadri. I still think he will be playing regularly for the Leafs at some point this season though. ( Kadri that is )

According to Wilson, both players bring a slightly different skill set.

?[Frattin] can block shots, he can finish checks. We?re trying to figure out if he can kill penalties too ? he?s got more all-around qualities,? said Wilson. ?And [Kadri] probably has a little more high-end, offensive skill in terms of making plays. But I think Frattin?s probably going to be a better goal-scorer than [Kadri] is.?

Which to me is basically saying that Frattin has beaten Kadri out for the third line spot because Frattin can help check on the third (often checking) line.

However, that's kind of academic:

KADRI'S INJURY TO KEEP HIM OUT OF LEAFS LINEUP FOR 3-4 WEEKS
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=376966

It's doubtful that Frattin would beat out Lombardi if he, Connolly & Bozak are ready as 4th line minutes are not great for his development and like Kadri, Frattin is waiver exempt. Connolly's upper body injury is apparently not serious and Bozak is back practicing along with Lombardi.

In my mind, with the depth at center, and dependent on need, Wilson's words set Kadri down the depth chart a little behind Frattin in terms of the next callup.

Mr Kadri, meet Mr. Bus (that you've been thrown under). Although I don't necessarily disagree with Wilson on this one.

He didn't throw him under the bus.  He said he has more high-end skill, and Frattin is probably more of a pure shooter, who will complement that with other responsibilities.

Maybe not I guess - probably my less than stellar way of saying they just don't seem to be as high on him as before. :D

I'm not sure why you're reading that from their comments. I think they've pretty honest with their assessment of him and careful not to heap on too many expectations.

Of course, I don't actually know Lombardi's health status.  Still, I like the idea of easing Lombardi in as the 4th line center or wing who also kills penalties and showing Frattin what the regular season NHL is like for a few games.  As Lombardi gets his feet under him, move him up to the third line wing and send Frattin down to the Marlies to get big playing time in all situations.  Boyce/Dupuis can fill in Lombardi's spot on the 4th line as he moves up.
